when i ran into dave hand (the only person in the whole building who felt like home) he was saying
"yeah, shoot me an email sometime and I'll come by."
i hate that kind of networking gig- because it makes me think the following:
-in order to be eligible for all types of cushy jobs and specialty speaking events, a proper network is needed
-in order to get a proper network, you must attend parties
-in order to attend parties, you must be that "attends parties" type of person
i do not have a bunch of cocktail dresses
i do not enjoy making the "i'm so excited to see you" face unless i am
i do not like to be jostled in crowds when no music is involved
so i'll somehow succeed without all that, though i'm not sure how.
